Third Grade Supplies

Welcome to 3rd Grade!

Each of us cannot wait to welcome you into our classrooms in August. We will be working this summer to prepare lots of fun learning experiences and to get our classrooms ready. You need to be ready too!

Below is a list of school supplies you will need when you come back to school ready for 3rd grade. Since most of the sales are well before our class letters come out, this list will give you plenty of time to shop for the best prices.

Each student will need:

• 7 pocket folders

Folder colors:

1.red

2.blue

3.green

4.yellow

5.orange

6.purple

•Pencils and erasers- we go through a lot of them so you’ll need to refill your supply during the year

•Colored pencils or crayons (these should be able to fit into your pencil box and not have to sit on your desktop)

•4 or more Whiteboard markers!!!!! We use these often and will need to replenish these A LOT throughout the year. You may want to stock up now.

•A pencil box (zippered ones work best so if they are accidentally knocked off the desk then they do not break open and spill)

•An old sock or washcloth that will be used as a whiteboard eraser

•2 glue sticks

•One 1 subject notebook

We look forward to meeting you. Use your summer break to do a lot of reading and things you enjoy. Ask your parents to help you practice telling time and counting change. See how fast you can get on your addition and subtraction facts- you’ll get a chance to wow us with what you know early in the year.

Have a great summer,

The Third Grade Teachers

Classroom Homework Policy

  1. All of our assignments will be written on the board and explained completely in class.

  2. Students will write down their homework each day in their student planners.  *The student planners are the BEST PLACE to look to see what your child needs to complete for homework every night.

  3. We are encouraging the students to be responsible, so forgetting their materials at school will not be an acceptable excuse for not having their work done.   If there is ever a reason why homework could not be completed (child was sick, family emergency, etc… please write an excuse note)

  4. 0 Missed: If ALL homework is handed in for the month the student will receive a free homework pass!!!!

1 Missed: That’s ok, we all forget sometimesJ, but no rewards this month

2 Missed or more: The student will need to complete their homework before the can play at recess

  5. We will check their homework each day.  It is important to have homework in school so it can be checked and any mistakes corrected.

7. If ALL homework is handed in for the month the student will receive a free homework pass as a reward!!!!
